MALCOLM GRAHAM.   AKA - "Malcolm Greame," "Malcolm Graeme." English, Air (2/4 & 6/8 time).  D Major (Carlisle ms.): F Major (Burks). Standard tuning (fiddle). ABC.  Malcolm Graeme is a character in Sir Walter Scott's epic verse masterwork The Lady of the Lake (1810). He is a young knight loyal to the King but moved by sympathy at the plight of Douglases, and it is Malcolm who is fair Ellen's love interest.  She ends up marrying him at the end.

The third strain of the tune is "My bonny lies over the ocean."
