MARCHE DU ST-LAURENT. French-Canadian, March (2/4 or cut time). D Major (Bégin, Tidal Wave): G Major (Duval). Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB' (Duval): AA'BB (Tidal Wave): AA'BB'A"A"'B"B"'. The tune was recorded in 1936 by fiddler biography:Isidore Soucy (1899-1963) and accordion player Donat Lafleur (1892-1973). In liner notes to Folkways RBF 114 (1980) Carmelle Bégin states that it is probable that this melody (along with "Marche de prisonniers") was once used to accompany "Le cotillon".

The first strain is shared with "Reel à Hélène."
