MARIE, SAUCE TON PAIN (Marie, dip your bread). French-Canadian, Reel (whole time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. A version of the first strain of "Marie, sauce ton pain" can be found as the second strain of "Bois-Francs (Les)," a reel in J.A. Boucher's printed collection Le Repertoire du Violoneux (1933). Isidore Soucy's "Reel du Faubourg de Québec" is also a cognate melody of the first strain.
