MAXIME LEBLANC('S REEL). AKA - "LeBlanc's Reel." Canadian, Reel (cut time). Canada, New Brunswick. D Major/Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Maxime Leblanc is the fiddler from whom Gerry Robichaud (born in St. Paul, New Brunswick) learned the tune; it may or may not be his. According to fiddler Devon Leger, Maxime was Robichaud's landlord when he lived in the coal mining town of Minto, New Brunswick, which also happened to have a number of good dances. The tune is in mixed modes (major/mixolydian) with different versions emphasizing a more model rendering.
