McDERMOT'S REEL [1]. AKA - "McDermoth's Reel." AKA and see "Master McDermott's Reel," "New Policeman (4)." Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Brendan Breathnach thought this tune to be a version of "Boys of the Lough (The)." It was composed by fiddler Michael "The Master" McDermott, a schoolteacher from Pomery and Carrigmore, County Tyrone, who died in 1947. Frequently the tune is called "Master McDermott's."
