MES AMOURS (My Loves). French-Canadian, Two-Step(?) (2/4 time). D Major ('A' part) and D Minor ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Mes amours," contained in J.A. Boucher's rare 1933 volume of dance music, is of unknown origin and difficult to categorize, at times sounding like a reel, schottische, polka or two-step. It was not the first title for the tune, however. Researcher Jean Duval has discovered prior, unpublished, versions of Boucher's collection and notes that in his first version of the 1927 collection the piece was entitled "Le voyageur".
