MILLPOND, THE. AKA - "Mill Pond." AKA and see "Cashel Jig (The)," "Lough Gill," "Paddy Cartys," "Shores of Lough Gill (The)." Irish, Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The Dublin-based Lough Gill Quartet, made of John Cawley (flute), Sarah Hobbs (fiddle), Sonny Brogan (accordion), and Bill Harte (accordion), recorded the tune in 1941. The quartet was named after the famous lake in County Sligo and as a tribute to Sligo-born New York fiddler Michael Coleman.
