MISS BODEN'S REEL. AKA - "Blacher's/Blacker's Reel (The)." AKA and see "Boys of Ballysadare (2) (The)," "Douse the Monkey (1)," "Dublin Lasses (1)," "Eve (The)," "Last Night’s Work," "Miss Roden's Reel," "Miss Roddy," "Miss Roddy's." Irish, Reel (cut time). D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. "Miss Boden's Reel" is contained in the music manuscript collection of biography:Rev. Luke Donnellan (1878-1952), Oriel region, south Ulster^[1]. "Miss Boden's Reel" is cognate with "Boys of Ballisodare (The)," albeit with parts reversed, and the title is quite close to County Leitrim musician biography:Stephen Grier's "Miss Roddy's" (Michael Coleman also recorded the reel as "Miss Roddy's").

↑ Donnellan researcher Gerry O'Connor came to believe the ms. is not the work of the curate but rather was originally compiled by an unknown but able fiddler over the course of a playing lifetime, probably in the late 19th century. The ms. later came into the possession of Donnellan, who was also a fiddler.
