"Miss Catherine Stewart of Desky's" was composed by James Taylor, fiddler, composer and teacher of music in Elgin. Catherine Stewart (1810-1874) was the youngest daughter of Charles Stewart, Esq., Deskie, and Mary Gordon Stewart, who married in 1804. Deskie was a farm at Ballindalloch, Banffshire.
