MISS MADALINA MAXWELL'S STRATHSPEY. Scottish, Strathspey (whole time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by Biography:William Shepherd (c. 1750-1812). Madelina Maxwell (b. 1785) was the daughter of Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, 4th Baronet, and Catherine Maxwell. She married English M.P. and politician James Du Pré of Wilton Park, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, in 1801, with whom she had twelve children. Her brother was Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, who inherited to become the 5th Baronet. Madalina and her sisters appear in one of the period drawings of John Kay^[1].
