MISS MARGARET GRAHAM OF GARTMORE'S. Scottish, Strathspey. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. Composed either by fiddler Robert 'Red Rob' Mackintosh (born c. 1745-1807), whose nickname was awarded doubtless because of having red hair, or by Biography:William Shepherd (c. 1760-1812). The tune is credited to Mackintosh by David Baptie (Musical Scotland, 1894, pp. 111-112), who said the composer was "a celebrated violinist and teacher, and excellent composer of dance music," and considered "Miss Margaret Graham of Gartmore" one of Mackintosh's best compositions.

Gartmore House is a country house and estate in the village of Gartmore, Stirling, Scotland, built in the mid-18th century for the Graham family on the site of an earlier house.
