MISS MURRAY'S REEL [4]. AKA - "Miss Murray". Irish, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The melody was entered as "Miss Murray" in the large c. 1900 music manuscript collection of musician Larry Smyth of Abbeylara, County Longford. Researcher Conor Ward finds the tune related to the Scottish reels "Lady Charlotte Murray (2)", by Daniel Dow, and "Lord James Murray (1)", attributed to Niel Gow. Smyth's tune appears to be a derivative melody.

Compare the closely related second strain of Smyth's "Miss Murray's Reel (4)" with the second strain of the Northumbrian "Miss Murray's Reel (1)."
