Ireland, Donegal. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’BCD (Taylor): AA'BB'CC'D (Breathnach). A popular reel in County Donegal, although Breathnach says its provenance is Scotland (see "Lady Mary Ramsey (2)"). Source John Doherty played the parts AA’BB’AA’CC’D, with the first two being a variant of “Miss Ramsay” while the second two parts were probably appended by Doherty from another tune. De Dannan and the Glackins play it ABABCB. See also Irish ms. variants as "Miss Betty Ramsey's Reel" (Grier) and "Lady Ramsey's Reel" (Donnellan).
