"Moonmore's Strathspey" is contained in Elgin fiddler-composer biography:Donald Grant's Collection of Strathspeys, Reels, Jigs &c.(1820-21) where it is marked as "Old." Grant composed a tune called "Mrs. Gordon of Moonmore's Strathspey," indicating Moonmore was a farm or estate, but no record has been found to date.
