MR. CHARLES GIBSON, PITLOCHRY'S STRATHSPEY. Scottish, Strathspey (cut time). E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by Perthshire fiddler-composer biography:Duncan McKercher, the "Dunkeld Paganini." Pitlochry is a town in Perthshire largely of Victorian origins, but sparsely settled when McKercher published his collection. McKercher also composed a strathspey called "Miss Gibson's Strathspey--Pitlochry," presumably for a sister or daughter of the subject of the present tune.
