MR. DUNCAN OF GARMOUTH'S STRATHSPEY. Scottish, Strathspey (whole time). G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. "Mr. Duncan of Garmouth's Strathspey" was composed by Elgin fiddler-composer biography:Donald Grant and published in his Collection of Strathspeys, Reels, Jigs &c. (1820-21). Garmouth is a town situated at the mouth of the Spey, that once had a large trade in shipbuilding. There was an Alexander Duncan who was a shipmaster there, but whether he is associated with Grant's title is unknown.
