The strathspey was composed by Edinburgh fiddler-composer and bandleader biography:Robert Mackintosh (c. 1745-1808) for one of the Francis Garden-Campbells of Troup House, either Francis Garden-Campbell (1768-1815), or his son and namesake (1793-1826). Bath was a spa resort featuring mineral waters, assembly rooms, theaters and other entertainments, patronized by the aristocratic and well-to-do classes in the latter 18th and early 19th centuries.
