MR. YOUNG’S DELIGHT. English, Country Dance Tune (cut time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABB. The melody and instructions for a county dance was published by Henry Playford in the Dancing Master, 9th edition (1698) and was retained in the long-running series through the 18th and final volume of 1728. It was also published in the Walsh's Compleat Country Dancing Master in all three editions (1718, 1731, 1754). The title refers to instrument maker biography:John Young, who, in 1698 was employed by Playford in his London publishing business, and who took over publishing the Dancing Master volumes when Henry retired a several years later.
