Composed by biography:Abraham Mackintosh, son of Robert "Red Rob" Mackintosh and Margaret Mill, who followed in his father's musical footsteps. He was born in Edinburgh in 1769 and died around 1808 in Newcastle-on-Tyne, where he had moved by the turn of the 19th century and where he is recorded as practicing his trade as a musician and dancing master. He published three brief collections in Edinburgh, beginning with Thirty New Strathspey Reels in 1792.
