MULLIN'S FANCY. AKA and see "Packie Dolan's," "Rising Sun (6)," "Strawberry Blossom (1) (The)," "Boys of Ballynahinch (The)." Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Miller & Perron): AAB (Taylor). Not commonly played or recorded. The tune is a variant of the Scottish melody "Nae Luck About the House" and as a pipe reel with a Gaelic title that translates as "Over the Isles to America." The single jig "Christmas Eve (3)" is a setting of the tune in triple time. County Longford fiddler Patrick James "Packie" Dolan's 1928 recording of the melody has proved influential.
