Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The slip jig was entered into the c. 1790 music manuscript collection of London musician Thomas Hammersley, under the title "New Way of Ye World." "Mode o' Wooing (The)" is barely similar in the first strains, if one compares melodic contour; the second strains are unrelated. "New Way of Wooing" is a similarly-titled melody, albeit most versions are in duple time.
