OLD BELL COW [4]. American, Reel (cut time). A Major. AEac# tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. This version of the tune is from the playing of famed 20th century Texas fiddler Benny Thomasson (1909-1983), who had the tune from his father, Lucas "Red Luke" Thomasson. After retirement, the contest-winning Thomasson moved to the State of Washington, near his son Dale, and proved to be just as influential to younger fiddlers in the northwest as he had been in Texas.
