The Old Head of Kinsale [1] is a headland near Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland. Fr. John Quinn finds cognate tunes in P.W. Joyce's untitled reel in his Ancient Irish Music (1873, No. 62, for which see "Reel (145)"), and later published under the title "Hunter's Purse (The)," the title Paddy Killoran used when he recorded the tune in the 78 RPM era.
