PÁDRAIG O'KEEFFE'S SLIDE [2] (Sleamhnán Phádraig Uí Chaoimh). AKA and see "Bank of Turf (1) (The)," "First Cousin of the Gallant Tipperary Boys (The)," "Tom Billy's Reel (4)." Irish, Slide (12/8 time). Ireland, Sliabh Luachra region of the Cork-Kerry border. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B (Breathnach): ABB’ (Moylan). Johnny O’Leary remembered this was played in a medley with “Scartaglen Jig (The)” by County Kerry fiddler Denis Murphy: “The two of them are out of each other.” The melody is attributed to Sliabh Luachra master fiddler Pádraig O’Keeffe. As “Bank of Turf (1) (The)” the tune was printed in Treoir (vol. V, No. 5).
