Luke O'Malley, in his 1976 collection of tunes, attributed the composition to Paddy O'Brien, however it is a composition of Co. Tipperary musician Seán Ryan[1]. O'Malley's identification of "Hills of Tipperary (2) (The)" is also erroneous; while there are several similarities between the two tunes, O'Brien's "Hills of Tipperary [2]" is considered a separate and distinct composition.
