PADDY FROM CORK [1]. AKA and see "Paddy in London (1)." Irish, Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The earliest appearance of the tune in print is in Church of Ireland cleric James_Goodman_'s mid-19th century manuscripts. Goodman (1828-1896) was an uilleann piper and an Irish speaker who collected locally in County Cork and elsewhere in Munster. The melody is related to O’Neill’s “Paddy in London (1)” and Joyce’s “Carrickmacross.”
