PEACOCK'S FEATHER [2], THE (Cleite na Péacóige). Irish, Hornpipe. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB (Breathnach): AA’BB’ (Black, Harker/Rafferty). Black identifies this as an East Galway tune,, recorded by the band De Danann. However, Caoimhin Mac Aoidh attributes it to Joe Holmes of County Antrim, a singer and fiddler who brought the tune to Galway in the early 1970’s. It seems that Holmes and a young Len Graham would travel to stay with friends, the Keanes of Caherlistrane, and introduced the tune on one of his visits.
