PET OF THE PIPERS. AKA and see "Dougherty's Fancy," "Doherty's Fancy," “Humors of Ballinafad (2) (The),” “Kip's Jig.” Irish, English; Jig. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The alternate title “Doherty's Fancy” appears to be unique to Francis O’Neill’s 1915 collection. Fiddler Paddy Killoran recorded the tune in the 78 RPM era in New York under the title "Humors of Ballinafad (2) (The)," while Hugh Gillespie recorded it (also in New York) as "Kip's Jig" (Kippeen Scanlon's).
