PINEY WOODS [1]. Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, West Virginia. A Major. AEac# tuning (fiddle): capo at 2nd fret, 5th=a, aEADE, or gGDGB (banjo). Pocahontas County, West Virginia, fiddlers Burl and Sherman Hammons [1] both played this very "crooked" cross-tuned (scordatura) modal melody, which may be a family original.
