E Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. This hexatonic melody is a variant of the folk-song "Ta dha gabhairin bui agam."
Source for notated version: the notes to the collector Edward Bunting's 1840 collection indicate the tune was noted from "Macdonnell the piper in 1797."
