QUADRILLE "LAURIER" 1ÈRE PARTIE. AKA and see "Reel du bombardier," "Reel la fermière." French-Canadian, Quadrille (cut or 2/4 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Soucy researcher Jean Duval finds this quadrille part to be a version of the polka known in English-speaking traditional music as "Girl with the Blue Dress On (1) (The)" AKA "Babes in the Woods (1)." Paul Fackler also finds cognate versions in "Arty Savidant's Tune" (Cyril DeVouge, Douglastown, PQ), Vermont fiddler Louis Beaudoin's "Joe's Favorite," and as one of the tunes in Montreal fiddler Jean Carignan's medley "Danse de la victoire"^[1].
