QUEEN OF CLUBS. AKA and see "Blue Bonnet (1)." Scottish, Reel or Fling. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. "Queen of Clubs" is one of the derivatives of Scottish fiddler-composer John Pringle's strathspey "Lady Ann Hope (1)." A close version was included under the title "A Highland Fling" in the mid-19th century music manuscript collection of Sliabh Luachra, Ireland, musician D. Curtin (No. 17, p. 8 [1]). The melody is perhaps a variant of “Frank Roche's Favourite.” See also the related fling "Blue Bonnet (1)", printed in a later Howe company venture, White's Unique Collection.
