RAYLAND'S HUMOURS. English, Reel (cut time). England, Northumberland. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was first published under the title "Rylands Humour" by London music publishers Charles and Samuel Thompson in their Compleat Collection of 200 Favourtie Country Dances, vol. 2 (1765, No. 49). The melody also appears as "Rayland's Humours" in the 1770 music manuscript of Northumbrian musician William Vickers, about who unfortunately little is known.
