REEL RIGOLO. French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Researcher Jean Duval notes the similarity of "Reel Rigolo" with other tunes in Quebec repertory: L'espandy ("Spandy (Le)"), "Reel de la belle fermière (La)" and "Gens de la Bastille (Les)." Jean remarks: "It is very similar to the comic Reel recorded by Alfred Montmarquette and Mary “La Bolduc” Travers in 1930 (Starr 15702)."
