REEL DE ST-PATRICE (St. Patrick's Day Reel). AKA and see "St. Patrick's Day." Irish, French-Canadian; Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Reel de St-Patrice" is Montreal fiddler Joseph Allard's (1873–1947) rendition of the widespread Irish jig "St. Patrick's Day." Allard's second strain is irregular, having nine or ten measures instead of eight, and while it can be transcribed entirely in 6/8 time, I believe the two measures of 9/8 time (resulting in a nine-measure second strain) more accurately reflect the flow of the melody.
