REEL DES BOULANGERS (Bakers' Reel). French-Canadian, Reel (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Researcher Jean Duval finds the first strain of "Reel des boulangers" can be found as the second strain of Isidore Soucy's "Quadrille de Québec 2ème partie," recorded in 1926 (1926 (Starr 15288b), while the second strain of Boucher's reel appears as the second strain of "Cotillon des Baies-de-Rochers"[1]. Duval notes that in Boucher's 1927 unpublished version of the collection "Reel des boulangers" was titled "Salut des dames", the name of a quadrille part in Quebec[2].
- ↑ The song "Déshabille-toi" (Undress Yourself) is also set to this melody.
- ↑ Boucher has another, different, melody in his collection called "Salut des dames."
