REEL DES MILLIONAIRES. French-Canadian, Reel (cut and 3/2 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Soucy researcher Jean Duval identifies this tune as a version of "Belle Catherine (3) (La)", which itself is a version of the Scottish "Braes of Mar (1) (The)." As with many American "old-time" tunes, each fiddler seems to have a version (or more!) of this tune, and renditions can vary greatly from one another. See also Willie Ringuette's "Reel des noces," for another 78 RPM era variant.
