REEL DU FAUBOURG [1]. French-Canadian, Reel. G Major (1st strain) & D Major (2nd strain). Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’BB’. The tune was recorded by fiddler Isidore Soucy three times between 1930 and 1932 on 78 RPM, and was also recorded in 1951 by Joseph Bouchard. Occasionally played with strains reversed (i.e. starting on the 'G' major strain). "Reel du Faubourg [1]" is a different tune than Soucy's "Reel du Faubourg de Québec," recorded in 1931 (Starr 15767a).
