REELS CANADIENS 1ÈRE PARTIE. AKA and see "Quadrille du nord-ouest 3ème partie." Canadian, Jig (6/8 time). Canada, Québec. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. This 6/8 melody was recorded by Montreal fiddler Arthur-Joseph (A.J.) Boulay (1883-1948) in 1926 for Victor Records. It is not known where the tune originated, notes Boulay researcher Jean Duval, who finds that Boulay recorded the same tune four years later under the title "Quadrille du nord-ouest 3ème partie."
