REUBAIREAN, NA. AKA - "Hebridean Sea-Reiver's Song." Scottish, Air (6/8 time). A harp air. The melody forms the central theme of Sir Granville Bantock's (1868-1946) scherzo "The Sea Reivers," composed in 1917 and first performed at London’s Queen’s Hall in 1920. The piece was described as a ‘Hebridean Sea-Poem’. According to Grove V, "The Sea Reivers" was originally intended as the scherzo section of the "Hebridean Symphony."
