ROBIN REDBREAST (An Bruindeargan). Irish, Reel. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (O'Neill {1850}): AA'BB' (O'Neill {Krassen}). Source Edward Cronin was a weaver and machinist as well as a fiddler and composer. Researcher Paul de Grae believes the tune may possibly have been composed by him. O’Neill held Cronin's playing in high esteem and noted that it was Cronin’s boast that he never forgot nor forgave a slight. See also the related “Eel in the Sink (The).”
