ROSES IN WINTER.   American, Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by Seattle fiddler Stuart Williams, in a subdued mood in February, 1997, after hearing the news his fried Martin "MC" Pigg had passed away. The opening bars are reminiscent of the Canadian reel "Logger's Breakdown."
