ROVING PEDLAR [2], THE. AKA and see “Red Haired Man's Wife (2) (The).” Irish, Air (3/4 time). B Flat Major (Stanford/Petrie): D Major (O’Farrell). Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. Stanford/Petrie (1902) notes: “The original air of the ‘Boys of Kilkenny.’” A version of the air, originally from the John Edward Pigot (1822–1871) mss., was entered into the mid-19th century music manuscript collection of Canon James Goodman (County Cork).
