ROYAL WEDDING [2]. AKA and see "Happy Pair (1) (The)." English, Country Dance Tune (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was printed in the earlier publications as "The Happy Pair" with "Royal Wedding" as an alternate title. Later publications (e.g. Bremner) gave it as "Royal Wedding." The tune title may commemorate the wedding of William IV, Prince of Orange, with Anne, Princess Royal of England in the Chapel Royal of St James's Palace, London, March 25th 1734.
