See also related tunes “Housemaid (1) (The)” and “Geese in the Bog (1).” The tune is usually known nowadays as “Humors of Glendart,” often paired in a set with “Saddle the Pony” in session play. The ‘Saddle’ title has drifted over to cover the ‘Glendart’ title in “Saddle the Pony (6)” (which also has its strains reversed from “Humors of Glendart” in Kerr’s publication). Researcher Conor Ward notes that the tune was called “Saddle the Pony” in 19th century musicians’ manuscripts from County Longford.
