SAILING ON THE OCEAN. AKA and see "Sugar Hill." Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, Arkansas. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A very simple old-time tune that is a member of a more-or-less related tune family that includes “Sugar Hill,” “Angeline the Baker,” “Jinny Git Around”/“Jenny Get Around,” “Fortune (1)” and others. recorded in by biography:Luke Hignight's Ozark Strutters, from Hot Springs, Garland County, Arkansas. Hot Springs is in central-west Arkansas and is not near the Ozarks Mountains, but does lie in the Ouachita Mountains. Presumably the band took the name of the more well-known mountain region for the cache of the Ozarks when compared to the Quachitas. The spelling ‘Highnight’ often given in the band's name is an error, or a conceit by the record company, for Luke’s (1898-1940) name was spelled ‘Hignight’.
