SATURDAY NIGHT [1]. English, Morris Dance Tune (6/8 time, 'slows' in 4/4 time). B Flat Major (Bacon): C Major (Raven): F Major (Bacon): G Major (Bacon Longborough, Mallinson). Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Bacon Longborough): AABB (Bacon Bledington, Raven): AAB (Bacon, Mallinson). "Saturday Night (1)" was collected from the villages of Bledington (Gloucestershire), Bucknell (Oxon) and Longborough (Gloucestershire) in England's Cotswolds. Bob Patten had this verse from Harry Adams at Ile Abbots, Somerset, in 1978:

Saturday night I lost my wife
And where do you think I found her?
Up in the moon, playing a tune
With all the girls around her.
