SCOLDING WIFE [6]. American (?), Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCB’B’C’C’. From the music manuscripts of Setauket, Long Island, painter and fiddler William Sydney Mount [1] (1807-1868), who indicated he had the tune “From John Allen Cogs, Westport, Conn.” He transcribed it probably in the 1840’s or early 1850’s. The fourth and fifth parts are simply octave variations of earlier parts.
