Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune was printed as "Shuffle Reel" in William Bradbury Ryan's Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883). Ryan was an employee of the Elias Howe music publishing company in Boston, and a close version of the tune was published as an untitled "Irish Reel" just a year or two earlier in Howe's own Musician's Omnibus Nos. 6 & 7 (1880-1882). New York researcher, writer and musician Don Meade believes the tune is a relative of “Bucks of Oranmore (The).”
