SIEGFRIED MULCAHY. American, Jig (6/8 time). B Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune is labelled an "Irish Jig" in Frank Harding's 1897 collection, but this is to differentiate it from the form 'straight jig' (in 2/4 time), and not to denote Irish provenance. The title seems uniquely American, a melding of the two most prominent immigration groups of the 19th century, Germans and the Irish. "Devlin's" is a similar jig in the first several measures but then differs, and the two are not cognate.
